The Creete Cellars Ottella Lugana
€ 30.00
The “Le Creete” Lugana is a white wine with enveloping aromas, impressing the palate with refinement, while not sacrificing character and personality. A rich label, with an enterprising sip, always very satisfying, where Trebbiano di Lugana is the protagonist. A grape particularly dear to the Ottella winery, a production reality always attentive to creating balanced labels, where nothing is out of place. Just like this “Le Creete”, a wine that pairs well with first and second courses where fish is the star.
This Lugana “Le Creete” is made from Trebbiano di Lugana grapes, which have always been widely cultivated in the areas surrounding Peschiera del Garda. The grapes are trained by Ottella using the guyot method within the “Le Creete” vineyard, characterized by a subsoil rich in white clay. The grapes, once selected and harvested, are pressed and naturally decanted, then fermented in steel tanks. The process continues with aging, also carried out in steel for a period ranging from 6 to 8 months, after which the wine is ready to be bottled.
The “Le Creete” is a Lugana with a strong and vibrant color, reminiscent of straw yellow. The aromas that develop on the nose are mainly fruity, enriched at the finish with mineral nuances. On the palate, it is light-bodied, harmonious, easy-drinking, and smooth, with a sip characterized by a fresh and savory taste, very enticing. A label that embodies the spirit and motto that guides the Ottella winery in every phase of the production chain, embracing the words of the writer and poet Goethe, according to whom “the best things are obtained only with the utmost passion.”

Palate: mineral, savory, tense and gritty
Appearance: Pale straw yellow
We are located in Veneto, more precisely in Montecchia di Crosara, in the heart of Soave, on the eastern slope where the soils are extremely steep and characterized by a significant presence of volcanic basalt slabs, elements capable of imparting extraordinary tension and minerality to the wines produced.
Here Andrea Fiorini Carbognin has been working since 2014 (although he has been working, producing, and interpreting wine for over 25 years) with a small plot of vines between 40 and 60 years old, choosing to restore shape and dignity to a noble grape variety like Garganega.
In the vineyard, work is done with cover crops, without synthetic chemical products and with the least interventionist approach possible, while in the cellar, two visions of the same grape are chosen: one more free and simpler (Etichetta Verde), and one more structured and rich (Garganuda), leaving intact in both cases the greatest possible territorial expression.
Stylistically, the wines produced are always tense, mineral, fresh, straight, and territorial, where volcanic soils and old vines become the nerve center for the production of Andrea's wines.
The Etichetta Verde is a Garganega from vines about 40 years old located on the eastern slopes of Soave.
A wine produced without sulfur and extraordinary for its cleanliness, intensity, impact, and depth, but above all for its hardly matchable quality-price ratio.
Complex yet simple sip; straightforward, citrusy, mineral, and enriched by echoes of hydrocarbons that nod to the great wines of Mosel.
