The Grechetto “Grecante” by Arnaldo Caprai is one of the quintessential white wines from Umbria. The Grechetto grape variety is firmly linked to the local history and tradition, and it expresses the Umbrian territory in its white version. The Caprai winery, one of the most famous names in regional winemaking, is well aware of this special belonging of the grape and is committed to enhancing it to the fullest of its potential. The characteristics of pleasantness and freshness are refined into a fine and elegant trait, making the “Grecante” suitable for countless contexts. The goal that looks to quality cannot disregard a great care directed towards the environment and its sustainability, a topic very close to the heart of the Arnaldo Caprai winery.
“Grecante” is a pure Grechetto, coming from vineyards located in the Montefalco area, the homeland of the red Sagrantino, in Umbria. Following the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and the obtained must is fermented in steel containers. The aging process, lasting 3 months, also takes place in steel. A final period of at least 3 months in the bottle completes the maturation and makes the Grechetto by Arnaldo Caprai ready for marketing.
Arnaldo Caprai Grechetto “Grecante” has a straw-yellow colour, with good brightness. Its aroma is intense and engaging; it leans towards notes of ripe and exotic fruit, among which stand out memories of yellow peach and melon, and white floral notes of freesia and hawthorn, set in a fine chalky minerality. On the palate, it presents itself with a full body and evident freshness. The mineral vein that makes the sip tense and prolonged towards a long and delightful finish is even more pronounced in taste. A liquid snapshot of the Umbrian territory captured in a bottle.

of golden yellow colour with greenish reflections, on the nose it is intense and enveloping with vanilla and mineral notes, white-fleshed fruit, enhanced by vegetal and floral notes of orange blossom and broom. On the palate, it is decidedly balanced between notes of vanilla and fruit such as pear and peach, very mineral with good freshness that enhances its savoury notes. Buttery notes on the finish given by the various batonnage on the fine lees.
