Medium depth purple-red. The bouquet features intense floral notes of geranium and red flowers, evolving towards notes of cherry, wild strawberries, and currants. A spiciness of black pepper accompanies a slight hint of eucalyptus. The palate is full, with scratchy yet rounded tannins. The finish is long-lasting with delicate references to fruit.
The Circus in Roman times was a place of gathering, socialising, and celebration. It had a circular shape, from which the name derives. It was also present in the ancient city of Luni “Portus Lunae”. We have dedicated a fresh and convivial red wine to this place, born from three different varieties: massaretta, an ancient indigenous grape, alicante, a variety well-suited to the Tyrrhenian area, and albarossa, a variety that originated in the early 1900s.

Intense ruby red. It exudes intense notes of blackcurrant, plum, and berries, complemented by more complex notes of cloves, cinnamon, and candied orange peel, cocoa, and vanilla. On the palate, it has a silky tannin and a enveloping body. The drink is balanced by a pleasant acidity. Extraordinary persistence with spicy echoes.

Vermentino Nero 2023 Cantine Lunae
€ 32.00
Denomination: Liguria di Levante i.g.t. Vermentino Nero
Grapes: Vermentino Nero
Alcohol content: 13 % vol.
Area: Municipalities of Luni and Castelnuovo Magra, Sarzana, Beverino
Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel tank, after racking, aging for 6 months in 20 hl wooden barrel.
The grapes are cultivated in the hilly area characterized by medium-textured soils, and in the plain of Luni with predominantly sandy soils. The characteristics of these two different terroirs, combined with the identity of the grape variety, lead to the expression of a wine of great finesse and balance with a strongly territorial imprint. To best enhance these characteristics, we have chosen a very careful and delicate vinification; fermentation takes place in steel at controlled temperature with a skin contact of about 10 days and a subsequent aging in large wooden barrels that is not excessively long.
Delicate yet complex aromas, floral notes of violet and dog rose are perceived, along with fresh red fruit and light spicy notes. Fresh and dynamic taste with excellent tannic texture and a smooth almond finish that denotes great personality.
